It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to the Emmaus Catholic Primary School, Dayton website. The newest Catholic school in Western Australia opened its doors to staff, students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 and their families, on Wednesday 1 February, 2023.

Sir William Deane once said, ‘The past is never fully gone. It is absorbed into the present and into the future. It stays to shape what we are and what we do.’

Therefore, I would like to acknowledge and honour Riverlands Montessori School which stood on these grounds from 2004 to 2020 and the research, teachings, insights and pedagogical developments of Dr Maria Montessori, which have transformed the lives of so many children across the generations. Maria Montessori was committed to a child focused education. This philosophy aligns perfectly to Catholic Education Western Australia’s vision of creating learning environments which are Christ centred and child focused. Catholic Education is about understanding, caring about and respecting each other inspired by the teachings of Christ. We seek to develop happy, confident, independent students created in the image of God, who have an appreciation and interest in their God given environment.

Emmaus Catholic Primary School is situated in the beautiful Swan Valley, an area which is rich in its cultural diversity and population. We warmly welcome all families from all cultures who seek a Catholic education for their children. Our school will be a place for learning, connecting, developing, transforming and journeying together.

Our staff are highly professional, dedicated, motivated and committed to supporting each student and meeting their individual educational needs. We acknowledge that parents, as the child’s first educators, make a vital and valuable contribution to the education of their children. We look forward to working in close partnership with our parents. Together we will deliver a Christ-centred and child focused education of the highest quality.

The next few years promise to be an exciting period for our school community as together we begin to work at building new contemporary learning spaces for our students and transform our school environment. By working together and walking the road in partnership, we will truly develop, 'Our School'.

I look forward to meeting with you in the near future and journeying together.
